Effect Of Antagonization Of M4 Receptors With Tropicamide, Catalysis And Motor Changes Induced By Nitrergic Inhibition, In Mice

The Parkinson's disease is characterized by the depletion of dopamine, however, there are strong indicators of interactions among other neurotransmitters in the base nuclei, such as in cholinergic neurotransmition. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of tropicamide, an M4 receptor antagonist, on the mice’s motor behavior induced by inhibition of nitric oxide synthase with L-NOARG. 48 male Swiss mice were subdivided into 6 experimental groups. Each animal was subjected to stereotaxic surgery for implantation of cannulae, in the striatum.

Educational Workshops To Stimulate The Sensory Perception Of Drug Users: An Experience Report

Objective: To discuss the therapeutic workshop as a strategy for the stimulation of the sense organs and to contextualize the problem of drug abuse. Methods: The activities were developed in a Psychosocial Attention Centers for alcohol and other drugs, located in the Northeast of Brazil. The therapeutic workshop was divided into six sessions that took place weekly in the service auditorium, outside pool area, occupational therapy room, group room or cafeteria, lasting one hour, and a sense organ was worked out for a meeting.

Hematological Profile in Infants of Diabetic Mothers King Fahad Hospital-Nicu-Albaha

Polycythaemiaoccurs more frequently at birth in infants of diabetic mothers. The exact mechanism polycythaemia in neonates still unidentified also many studies have shown that increased erythropoiesis in infants born to diabetic mothers might be related to intrauterine hypoxia, due to hyperinsulinism and hyperglycaemia. There are 7 neonates (25.9%) with low heamoglobin(Hb) and 17 neonates (63%) with normal Hb and 3 neonates(11.1%) with high Hb. In conclusion uncontrolled blood glucose during pregnancy is the leading causes to polycythemia and macrosomia.

Evaluation of Child Health Care in Primary Health Care: Integrative Review

Objective: To identify the scientific productions about the integrality attribute, in the care of the child, in Primary Health Care services, with the use of the Primary Care Assessment Tool. Method: This is an integrative review. The period of data collection was from June to August of 2018, and the studies were obtained from public domain access: Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences , National Library of Medicine/National Institutes of Health, SciVerseScopuse Web Of Science. totaling sixteen productions.

Early diagnosis of fournier’s gangrene by ultrasound and its outcome in a secondary level health care centre

Fournier’s gangrene (FG) is an acute rapidly progressing infective necrotizing fasciitis of the genital, perineal and perianal regions which carries high mortality rates. We report here a case of an early diagnosis of FG by an emergency ultrasound examination in an 85 -year old gentleman and its successful outcome with early aggressive wound debridement along with broad-spectrum antibiotics. High index of clinical suspicion along with urgent ultrasound imaging clinches an early diagnosis. Sonologist detected air pockets in the subcutaneous tissues of the perineal area.

Pathological Enteroparasites In Children Of Preschool Age

Parasitism is the association between living beings, where there is unilaterality of benefits. The intestinal parasitoses still present a high prevalence among the population of low socioeconomic level, representing an important public health problem, mainly due to the effects that can cause on the nutritional status and the physical development of the children population.

Toxicity of levodopa in parkinson disease therapy

Parkinson's disease is a universal progressive neurological disease, being a more common neurodegenerative disease in the population between 58 and 69 years old. It is constituted as a disease by the degeneration of the black base substance, where a dopamine is synthesized, associated to the presence of cytoplasmic molecules formed by the accumulation of proteins such as Lewy corpuscles. The choice of treatment depends on the functional deficit and response to the treatment already used.

Research update article - center for extension, research and study on chronic diseases (NEPEdc)

Over time, historical facts have further strengthened the need and importance of scientific research in public health, helping to better understand demographic and epidemiological health-disease transitions, monitoring technical and technological developments, and supervising quality and access health services and the negative impacts they imply on global health.

The Relation Between Simple Febrile Convulsion And Serum Zinc Level In Children

Background: Febrile seizures are the most common seizures of childhood, aged between 6 months to 5 years. Pathophysiology of febrile seizure remains unknown, but reduction in serum and cerebrospinal fluid zinc levels, and low gamma-amino butyric acid (GABA) levels are thought to play a role in the pathogenesis of febrile seizure occurrence or recurrence. Objective: To find out the serum zinc level in children with simple febrile convulsion , and its relationship with age, sex, duration of fever and the causes of febrile illness.
