Rage expression in hcv-related hepatocellular carcinoma; comparison between malignant and perimalignant tissues

Background: The expression of the receptor for advanced glycation end products (RAGE) has an impact on the mechanisms giving rise to characteristic features of various cancer cells. We aimed in this study to correlate the scores of RAGE expression with histopathological features of HCV- related hepatocellular carcinoma in malignant and peri-malignant tissue specimens.

Remote test monitoring and controlling of multiple sensors using android app for smartphones

This paper describes an advancement which could be implemented in the Automation Industry with the development of Android application for smart phones. The various sensors used in industries such as temperature sensors used in blast furnaces, fractional distilling columns for fuel extraction, food processing, pharmaceutical product manufacturing, water level sensors used in Dams, storage tanks for hydroelectric projects and societies, motion sensors used for security in industries and home automation systems can all be monitored and controlled remotely.

Phased array ultrasonic evaluation of ultra high strength steel weldments for aerospace applications

Ultra high strength steels viz. Maraging 250 grade steel, that are used for realising rocket motor casings have a tendency to undergo brittle fracture in the presence of cracks.  Thus, it becomes imperative to resort to fracture mechanics for determination of critical crack sizes that could cause a catastrophic structural failure.  The flaw sizes that are characterised as critical are then taken as the minimum detectable flaws for NDT. Ultrasonic NDT is an effective method to detect small tight cracks available in weldments.

Antibacterial and photo catalytic activity of pomegranate rind extract doped tio2 nanoparticles by sol-gel method

Metal oxides  exhibits extraordinary properties  like hydrophobic nature and high energy band gap, hence it can be used in different types of applications such as in solar cell, photo catalysis, charge spreading devices, chemical sensors, microelectronics, electrochemistry, antibacterial products and textiles in the nano level due to their high surface to volume ratio. Generally various synthesis techniques are available to prepare TiO2nanoparticles. In this present paper synthesis of TiO2nanoparticles were focused using Green synthesis using pomegranate rind extract as one of precursor.

Complex creep compliance moduli of polymer material under force harmonic loading at the different amplitude, temperature and frequency

Viscoelastic properties of polymeric materials are of fundamental importance to understand their mechanical behaviour, especially dealing with dynamic and vibration problems. In the present research, the generalized and modified yield theory of Goldberg constitutive model is used to predict the time dependent inelastic response of polymer materials.

Electroless co-p coated nanocenosphere /polymer/filler composite for emi shielding effectiveness

Due to the increasing development of many types of communication technologies, the unnecessary impacts of electromagnetic radiations on humans and electronic systems are increasing. Therefore it is very essential to decrease the Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) and its effect on humans, instruments and electronic devices. In the present study, Electroless Cobalt Phosphorous alloy (Co-P) Coated Nanocenosphere / polymer/filler Composites has been proposed for their EMI shielding Effectiveness.

Gender indices as influenced by different levels of female literacy in Odisha

Gender mapping and analysis helps in identifying the regions and districts for priority intervention. The geography of gender has emerged as an important dimension in the gender studies. In the present study, three gender indices namely, female literacy, gender gap in literacy and sex ratio were mapped district wise for all the 30 districts in Odisha. Further, seven female literacy grades (in percentages) between 30 and 100 percent female literacy rates were identified and the gender indices were compared under each female literacy grade.

Pharmacognostic evaluation of fruit of wrightia tinctoria r.br

The present study on pharmacognostic activities of fruit of Wrightia tinctoria R.Br such as fluorescence analysis of powder crude drug and their chemical behavior, consistency, color and pharmacognostic analysis of fruit extracts of W. tinctoria R.Br were studied by using methanol, petroleum ether and ethyl acetate solvents. The result reveals that, the crude drug of fruit of W. tinctoria R.Br was found sticky mass in nature in petroleum ether and ethyl acetate extracts. While, semi solid mass was found in methanolic extracts.

Correlation and path coefficient analysis in cotton

An experiment was conducted on correlation and path coefficient analysis for fibre characters, yield and yield contributing characters in upland cotton with 11genotypes for ten characters at college farm, college of Agriculture, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad during Kharif 2007-08 to 2008-09. Correlation studies revealed significant desired association with yield for boll weight and bundle strength. Bundle strength made highly significant contribution to yield. Path matrix revealed that boll number, boll weight and 2.5% span length had maximum direct positive effect on yield.

The viral disease complex of grapevine infectious degeneration and its association with grapevine fan leaf virus in Albania

Recent studies have shown that major grapevine viruses for the Mediterranean region are prevalent in the native cultivars that have been grown for long in Albanian vineyards. Infectious Degeneration disease complex caused by Grapevine Fan Leaf Virus (GFLV), and other viruses, comprises a common phenotype in the field, but GFLV detection in random samplings has shown low frequency.
