A systematic review on management of liver cirrhosis through diet

Cirrhosis is an abnormal liver condition in which there is irreversible scarring of the liver. In cirrhosis the liver tissue is replaced by a scar tissue and fibrosis. The main cause of liver cirrhosis is excessive alcohol consumption, viral hepatitis B and hepatitis C, and non alcoholic fatty liver disease, biliary cirrhosis. Ascites is the most common complication of cirrhosis. Symptoms of liver cirrhosis includes jaundice, redness of the palms of the hands, spider angiomas etc. About 3% of the world’s population is affected due to cirrhosis. 39.5% males and 19.6% females is affected due to cirrhosis in India. Liver cirrhosis can be diagnosed by blood test, imaging test, biopsy, endoscopy etc. Liver cirrhosis can be treated through medicine and a healthy diet.
