Orthodontic treatment can lead to accidents and complications. Among these, problems may arise from orthodontic treatment in endodontic problems, and therefore analyzing the relationship of both specialties is important. Some studies have shown that there is a relationship between such biological reactions after orthodontic movement. Given these assumptions, this study addressed through a literature review, the relationship of periodontal biological reactions to orthodontic movements, highlighting the external root resorption. A systematic search was conducted in the main global databases of ScieLo, Lilacs, Google Scholar and Pubmed, with the collection of 33 articles published from 2000 to 2019. It is concluded that there is a lack of information about the most between endodontics and orthodontics during treatment and with planning decisions. This relationship varies from effects on the pulp of orthodontic treatment and resorption potential during tooth movement, clinical management of teeth requiring endodontic and orthodontic treatment. In this context, it should be emphasized that preventive action should be taken with appropriate planning and treatment plan.
