Objective: to compare the knowledge about the RDC of hypertensive and diabetic users of primary health care before and after educational actions through questionnaire. Method: a descriptive, randomized study, with pre- and post-intervention evaluation. Held in nine basic health units in the urban area of a municipality of Pernambuco, with the participation of 76 patients of both genders. Results: Most participants were women and the elderly between 60 and 69 years of age with low income and education. When evaluating the participants' knowledge about chronic kidney disease, it was observed that there was a higher proportion of correct answers after the educational intervention in 8 of the 10 questions of the questionnaire about the disease with a statistically significant difference (p <0.05). Conclusion: The educational intervention proved to be effective, as there was an increase in the knowledge of the participants about chronic kidney disease.
