Couple tank system is often used in chemical process industries to process the various liquids in the tanks. The control of liquid level in tanks and flow between the tanks is a problem in process technologies because of interaction between the tanks. The process technologies require liquid to be pumped, stored in tanks and then pumped to another tanks systematically. In this paper an efficient elementary idea about the PID controller for liquid level process for couple tanks system has been presented. PID controller has been widely used in industrial process control system since last six decades. The PID controller helps to get the output at desired level in a short time with minimal overshoot and little error. This paper aim to explain the liquid level control in straight forward terms. Liquid level control and modelling ideas is also presented where possible results of real system are shown. The result found is very encouraging and satisfactory.
