Abstract: 

The emergency room comprises one of the entrances to the urgency and emergency network, usually installed in general and reference hospitals, and may be of medium and high complexity, intended for the care of patients who need immediate intervention. In this context, administrative planning, with regard to the sizing of the multidisciplinary team, as well as the provision and forecast of materials and supplies and adequate physical structure, are essential for humanized and safe patient care, in addition to better quality of work for all employees involved. Therefore, the aim of this study was to analyze the epidemiological profile of patients admitted to the red room in hospital units, through a literature review. This is an integrative literature review, with descriptive methodology. Data collection was performed through electronic search, in the National Library of Medicine (PUBMED), Scientific Electronic Library Online (SCIELO) and Latin American and Caribbean Health Sciences (LILACS) databases. The 9 selected studies were carried out in different regions of the country, according to which the main pathologies treated in PS units include headache, stroke, back pain, chest pain, heart failure, arterial hypertension and cardiac arrhythmia. The most prevalent age group is 15 to 49 years old, the most prevalent sex was alternated between the sessions, as detailed in the discussion below. From the collection of data in this study, it was possible to list the analysis of the profile of the clientele treated in the red room in the emergency room, which provides subsidies for managing the needs of the unit's multidisciplinary staff.
