Adequate levels of health-related physical fitness form the basis for healthy growth and development in childhood and adolescence. This study aimed to describe and investigate possible associations between the components of health-related physical fitness, with sociodemographic factors of children and adolescents from seven to 14 years old. This is a descriptive, ex post facto study with a quantitative approach. The results showed a negative and significant association between sex and cardiorespiratory fitness (b = -327; p = .001) and sex with RML (b = -442; p = .001), ie, males had better results. indices in both components. On the other hand, positive and significant associations between age with BMI (b = 268; p = .001), age with Apcr (b = 361; p = 0.001) and age with RML (b = 275; p = .001) or that is, greater results were obtained with advancing chronological age. Concluding that in cardiorespiratory fitness and localized muscular endurance, a better level was found in males. Low levels of body mass index, as well as improved cardiorespiratory fitness and localized muscular endurance were associated with advancing chronological age for both sexes.
