Abstract:

The research productivity scholarship from CNPq is aimed at researchers with at least three years of PhD (or equivalent scientific profile) that stand out among their peers in conducting research in scientific and technological areas. Thus, CNPq provides a constant stimulus to the segments of excellence research in the county, focusing on the quality, the depth and the possible application of the studies. Considering the growth of research in all areas and, consequently, the number of researchers, the proportion of research productivity scholarship from CNPq tends to represent an increasingly smaller portion of researchers set. Thus, the pressure for these research grant tends to increase considerably, leading to the adoption of increasingly restrictive criteria of selection, for example, increasing the completion time for the researcher to become eligible to compete for a research scholarship. Therefore, this paper will present the preliminary results of profile identification of the researchers with research productivity scholarship from CNPq, examining their scientific production throughout his academic life.
