Abstract:

Violence against women is considered to be any unreasonable act based on gender, which results in psychological, physical, sexual and patrimonial expenditures. Thus, it is intended to identify the characteristics and consequences of violence against women with disabilities in the scientific literature. This is an integrative literature review, carried out at the Virtual Health Library using the keyword “women with disabilities” and the descriptor “violence” and in the PubMed Central database with the keyword “women with disabilities ”and the descriptor“ violence ”, in both moments it was combined with the Boolean operator“ AND ”, after applying the filters and analysis the sample was composed of 12 scientific documents. Among the main results, women with disabilities when compared to those who do not have any disabilities, are more prone to violence throughout their lives, in which the perpetrator consists mainly of their own partners, with the vast majority being practitioners of all types of aggressions the sexual stand out, which was the most pointed among the studies. Soon, significant notes were clear about deleterious effects on health and quality of life, inferring that these women are victims of various types of violence, either by gender and by the disabling condition.
