Cuidadospaliativos de enfermagemao paciente elegível

Marcos Antônio Silva Batista

Abstract:

Palliative care has become an option to offer care to a patient who experiences a diagnosis and clinical health condition, in which cure cannot be achieved. Making health services focus on more humanized care and seeking to relieve the pain of the sick and the family, so that they have a better quality of life throughout the process, from diagnosis to death. This material seeks to contemplate and present the nurse's care, when they are directed to the patient eligible for palliative care. The methodology worked is a literature review, was carried out in the databases Scielo, LILACS, Medline, Fiocruz, Paho, Wholis, PUBMED and VHL, being divided into three stages. The following inclusion criteria were established: articles in Portuguese and English, published in Brazil and abroad. The results found present nursing as a key profession for the palliative care process, because it is the nurse's responsibility to care on a daily basis, close to the family and the community, as well as welcoming the individual in their biopsychosocial needs, focusing on humanized and quality service. It is observed that even with failures in the academic curriculum when related to palliative care, nursing has presented prominence when the theme is palliative care. It is concluded that palliative care is a promising field, because it encompasses possibilities until recently unknown and that nurses are fundamental in the care process, and can offer much more than a treatment, another lifestyle.
