To This work aimed to present a study on the Cavalry and the Riot Troops, as well as their combined use in Civil Disturbance Control actions. Thus, through quantitative research, the objective of the present study was to understand how cavalry troops operate in civil disturbance control actions in different states of Brazil, as it is a complex topic involving the doctrine of riot troops on foot and cavalry troops. This is a matter of great national importance for analyzing the standardization of techniques and doctrines used. By observing that in the Military Brigade of the State of Rio Grande do Sul, this joint work already occurs frequently and is already part of the curriculum of riot operations courses and mounted police courses, it was deemed necessary through this research to establish a parameter of advantages and disadvantages of this joint operation. The study addressed cavalry employment techniques in civil disturbance control actions, joint training periods with foot troops, and materials used, where we concluded that, as this is such a specific activity, we need to encourage joint training, continue debating better techniques, conduct exchanges between military police forces, reinforcing and establishing a national doctrine regarding the use of cavalry in civil disturbance control actions.
