Abstract: 

The present study aimstoestimate the prevalence and the indicators of congenital syphilis in the North, in the period from 2010 to 2018. Descriptive, retrospective study, quantitative approach, like literature review on congenital syphilis in the North. The secondary data were recorded on the banks of the Information System of reportable diseases and Mortality information system, during the period from 2010 to 2018. The variables studied were the years of occurrence between 2010 to 2018, the child's age in days and years, maternal age, maternal education in years of study, the mother's skin color, conducting prenatal maternal diagnosis, treatment of mother and your partner, and number of deaths for congenital syphilis. Shows the low quality of prenatal assistance associated with the increased incidence of SC in pregnant women over the age of 20 years, in the North, can is associated with failures in prevention of congenital syphilis, late diagnosis of syphilis and not treatment started orinad equate maternal and your partner related to loss of timely moments for both diagnosis and treatment, to lack full treatment of the mother and your partner. The study shows the urgent need to review the procedures adopted and greater accountability of professionals facing a preventable problem.
