Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is a global pandemic, recognized as a complex disease that requires multiple approaches in its treatment. The general objective was to describe the sociodemographic and clinical profile of patients with chronic kidney disease undergoing hemodialysis in the city of Altamira/Pará. The research was carried out with 75 patients with kidney disease treated at a hemodialysis clinic at the Regional Public Hospital of Transamazônica. The study was approved by the Research Ethics Committee from Universidade Luterana do Brasil (ULBRA) (no3.770.311). The data were obtained using a semi-structured form and were analyzed using the ‘Statistical Package for Social Science’ (SPSS) Version 13.0 software. The results show a predominance of men (62.7%), white ethnicity (60%), average age 50.7 years, predominantly aged between 50 to 59 years (19.6%), married (53%), with incomplete primary education (40%) and who live in the city of Altamira, PA (40%). Hemodialysis treatment time ranged from 03 to 240 months and 60% of the patients have Systemic Arterial Hypertension (SAH). The results suggest the importance of knowing the patient’s profile for planning and treatment and adequate monitoring of chronic kidney disease.
