Patient safety at samu: diagnosis to propose a project to promote health actions

Objective: To identify the attitudes that evidence the culture of patient safety by professionals of a team of Mobile Emergency Service in the prehospital context. Method: Quantitative, descriptive and cross-sectional study, through the application of the Safety Attitudes Questionnaire, validated and adapted to the Brazilian culture to 105 professionals who worked in a Mobile Emergency Service. Results: It was observed a prevalence of female professionals (64.8%), being nursing technicians (30.5%), ambulance drivers (21.9) and registered nurses (17.1%), the mean age of the participants was 34.9 years (SD ± 8.9 years), the mean working period at SAMU was 32.7 months (SD ± 42.8 months), and were employed directly to work in ambulances. Most of the answers were positive regarding patient safety in unit ofMobile Emergency Service under study. Conclusion: There is a need to implement the patient safety program in Mobile Emergency Service - Norte Novo, even with the discrepancy of results between the blocks evaluated.
