Significance of clinical parameters in diagnosis and management of renal failure

Chronic kidney disease is a significant cause of morbidity and mortality across the developed world. Glomerular filtration rate, serum creatinine, blood urea nitrogen and albumin are biomarkers used in kidney failure. Angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors and angiotensin receptor blockers are widely used in management of kidney failure. The main objective is to evaluate management based on clinical parameters in renal failure patients. Single centred prospective observational study is conducted on 150 subjects with a age group of 20 to 80, who are diagnosis with renal diseases and undergone dialysis in a duration of 6 months (august 2016 –January 2017) in Vedanta hospital. Total 150 patients with age 20-75 suffering from chronic kidney disease along with other comorbid conditions include in this study. Treatment is guided by the patient’s stage of chronic kidney disease, based on kidney function and kidney damage and control of blood pressure to recommended levels with appropriate medications. Our analysis of data collected from 150 subjects from Vedanta Hospital showed that significance of clinical parameters like glomerular filtration rate, Serum Creatinine, blood urea nitrogen, and albumin in diagnosis of various stages and management of renal failure based on stages.
