Abstract:

This article is part of the dissertation "Racism, Identity and Professional Training: life trajectory of black women in higher education teaching", which aimed to analyze the life trajectory of black teachers in the region of Cariri Cearense, in particular, the cities of Juazeiro do Norte, Crato and Barbalha. The research had a qualitative approach, having as methodology the oral history of life, being carried out through semi-structured interviews with the application of a questionnaire. 06 black teachers were chosen, linked to 05 Higher Education Institutions. For the theoretical basis, black authors and authors were used, such as: Nilma Lino Gomes (1995), Petronilha Silva (2011), Lélia Gonzalez, Sueli Carneiro (2011), Djamila Ribeiro (2019), Luiza Bairros (2006), Silvio Almeida (2019) among others. From the testimonies of the interlocutors, it was possible to verify the presence of the oppressions of racism and sexism during their professional training.
