Mucocele is a common benign lesion that affects the oral cavity resulting in most cases of mucin leakage caused by the rupture of the ducts of the minor salivary glands. It is considered a traumatic lesion, with a more common location on the lower lip, laterally on the midline and a higher prevalence in children and adolescents, with a violent shape and its size, which can vary from millimeters to centimeters. To report a clinical case of a young patient with mucocele on the lower lip demonstrating total surgical excision of the lesion as a form of treatment. Male patient, faioderma, 16 years old, presented at the Dental Clinic in a private institution in the Southwest of Bahia, reporting the appearance of a lesion in the mucosa of the lower lip for approximately 2 months with rapid evolution. During anamnesis he claims the habit of nibbling on his lip. On intraoral examination, it was observed that the lesion had a nodular aspect, with a smooth surface, similar in color to the surrounding mucosa, non-ulcerated, floating and asymptomatic. Once the mucocele diagnosis was established, the lesion was excised using the total enucleation technique to prevent recurrence. The treatment proposed in the clinical case was a total surgical excision of the lesion in order to act preventively in order to avoid recurrences.
