The marajó archipelago and its resources: oil exploration in foz do rio amazonas

The object of the article contemplates the dimensions of natural resources, environmental resources and territorial resources in the Marajó Archipelago. The objective of the article is to relate the projects exploring natural resources, especially those related to the research and exploration of oil and gas derivatives, with the need to preserve environmental resources, especially the Biodiversity Conservation and Protection Units. With regard to territorial resources, the difficulties of local development will be considered based on the analysis of some human development indicators. In the final remarks, negative and positive aspects will be presented.
