Public health education policies on Breastfeeding: A Systematic literature review using the Methodi Ordinatio

This article presents a systematic review of the literature on public health education policies related to breastfeeding. The aim was to identify the main initiatives, evaluating their effectiveness in promoting, protecting, and supporting breastfeeding. The use of the Methodi Ordinatio method allowed for the classification of articles based on impact factor, number of citations, and year of publication, ensuring the selection of relevant studies.

Molecular characterization of genetic diversity induced in Ceratophyllum Demersum L. grown in Wastewater

The adaptability of aquatic plants to changing environments depends on their genetic diversity. These were influenced by the rate of sexual reproduction, mutation, as well as, gene flow from distant areas. So, the aim of this study was to investigate the genotoxicity of wastewater on the molecular level of Ceratophyllum demersum L., in addition to improving the quality of these effluents resulting from the chemical fertilizer industry. Six doses of ultraviolet (UV-B) irradiation were used to induce genetic diversity in C. demersum L, in addition to unirradiated plants served as control.

Phenotypic Changes and Meiotic Abnormalities Induced by Plant Growth Regulators in Zea Mays L

The Maize is ranked the third cereal crop in the world after rice and wheat. Plant growth regulators (PGRs) are synthetic hormones that are effective or more than natural plant hormones. This study aimed to assess phenotypic changes and meiotic abnormalities induced in maize influenced by PGRs. Two single hybrid genotypes of maize, as well as, two PGRs including gibberellic acid (GA3) and ethephon were used in this study. Maize grains were soaked in two different concentrations of each PGR for 12 hours before sowing in the field.

Development and Evaluation of Pumpkin Orange Based Jelly

The objective of this study was to develop pumpkin-based jelly and evaluate its sensory and nutritional properties. The jelly was prepared by combining pumpkin and orange in different ratios: T1 (75:15), T2 (70:20), and T3 (65:25). Sensory evaluation for suitability of consumption was conducted using a nine-point hedonic scale. Proximate analyses, including moisture, ash, and protein content, were performed following AOAC 2010 nutritional guidelines.

Rice (Oryza sativa) Farmers’ Knowledge about Effects of Climate Change in the North East Region of Ghana

The study surveyed rice (Oryzae sativa) farmers to determine their knowledge and perceptions about effects of climate change on rice farming in the North East Region of Ghana. Two hundred respondents were randomly sampled from four communities to respond to a questionnaire. Reliability of the questionnaire was determined with Cronbach’s Alpha reliability coefficient of 0.793. Descriptive and inferential statistics were used to analyse the data. It was revealed that 89.5% of respondents agreed that climate change is caused by natural and anthropogenic factors.

Exploring the Therapeutic Potential of Propolis: Insights into its Chemical Profile and Pharmacological Activities

Propolis is a natural adhesive produced by honey bees. This study explored two extracts, methanolic and ethanolic, prepared through Soxhlet extraction and maceration, respectively. The antioxidative, antibacterial, and anticancer properties of these extracts were assessed. For quantification, flavonoid, phenolic, and tannin contents were determined in both extracts. The antioxidant properties of the extracts were evaluated using DPPH and ABTS radical scavenging assays.

Study of Urinary Hydroxyproline, Serum Pseudo Choline Esterase, Serum Protein Electrophoresis Abnormalities in Pem Children

Introduction: Hydroxyproline is a translation modification of amino acid for the formation of collagen in PEM (Protein energy malnutrition) children the hydroxylproline is excreted through urine not seen. The pseudo choline esterase lowers in the PEM children because of liner enlarged and impaired LFT and at the same time, the hypoalbuminemia is observed by an electrophoretic pattern of A: G ratio. Materials and Methods: This case-control study was carried out in the Index Medical College, Department of Pediatrics. This study population consisted of 75 cases of PEM and 50 controls.

Asymptomatic Carriage, Knowledge, and Risk factors Associated with Streptococcus Pneumoniae Infection Among Public Transport Users (Taxi-Bus) in Franceville, South-East Gabon

Background: Despite the existence of a vaccine, pneumococcal bacteria remain a major health problem, particularly in Africa, where they cause many deaths, especially among young children and the elderly. The present study looked at asymptomatic carriage, knowledge and risk factors associated with Streptococcus pneumoniae infection, among public transport users (Taxis-Bus) in Franceville, south-east Gabon.
