Managing organizational health and safety in basic education institutions: A study of selected institutions in Adaklu District in the Volta Region, Ghana

The objective of this study is to identify health and safety management measures that are put in place in Basic Education Institutions in Adaklu District in Ghana. The ultimate goal of this study is to help parents and rural communities to identify healthy means of caring for children in basic schools. Again the study is meant to expose parents and operators of early childhood educational institutions to health and safety needs of children. Field visits were made to the selected schools for first hand data with evidence based data collected in the form of pictures.

College of teacher education in the Batangas State University system: Expectations and Newagenda

The study attempted to come up with expectations and new agenda that would accelerate the growth of the College of Teacher Education in Batangas State University (BSU) System. This study described the CTE’ sphilosophy/vision/mission, organizational structure, faculty qualification and admission and retention policies. The respondents assessed and compared the components of the teacher education program as to its curriculum and instruction, personal and professional qualities of faculty, student, research and community extension services.

Organisational politics – What happens and what can be done

The article discusses the concept of organisational politics. What exactly the concept is all about and how does this happen as a part of organisational dynamics is explored. The aspect of manipulation, gossip, games and issues that one encounters as a part of organisational politics have also been evaluated. Some discussion on how one need to handle this has also been covered.

Resurgence - The boundless Kalakriti of Punjab

India has a strong history of crafts and traditions. These craft traditions especially in the Indian Textile sector led to India being one of the top most countries when it came to textile exports even before the British Raj, and probably leading to it.  Due to modernisation and mechanization a lot of crafts were slowly beginning to get lost in history, but the love of craft, design and tradition helped the revival of Indian Craft Industry.

Apprenticeship practices and sustainable economic growth in Nigeria (A study of selected automobile mechanic, Worshops in Lagos State)

The essence of this study ‘apprenticeship practices and sustainable economic growth in Nigeria is to unveil the opportunities for economic growth in Nigeria through apprenticeship practices. The problem statement led to the formulation of the specific objectives of the study which include to investigate the employment generation capacities of apprenticeship practices of SMEs and to ascertain whether apprentice practices contribute to poverty reduction in Nigeria through SMEs. Two research questions were drawn from these objectives.

Financial literacy and development experimental insights from rural micro- and small entrepreneurs (mses) in Western Uganda

Financial literacy is the ability to read, analyze, manage and discuss various financial conditions that eventually lead to individuals’ economic well-being. It includes the understanding of different financial choices and making the right financial decisions for better future planning (Stone, 2004; Vitt et al., 2000). This paper presents a quasi- experimental study of a financial literacy intervention with rural micro- and small entrepreneurs (MSEs) in Western Uganda, testing the effects of financial literacy training on savings, borrowing, record keeping and budgeting.

The effect of explicit teaching of discourse markers on Iranian efl learners’ pragmatic fluency

Research into classroom interaction can be contributive to achieving a better comprehending of what goes on in an EFL classroom. This might shed light into the mental processes of speakers. This study aims to investigate the impact of teaching discourse markers on Iranian EFL learners’ pragmatic fluency. 70 Iranian advanced EFL learners (15 male and 35 females) with age range of 20-40 years, learning English at the language center of National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) in Ahvaz, Iran were required to participate in this study.

An exploratory study to assess the knowledge related to oxygen therapy among the staff nurses in a selected Hospital, Ludhiana, Punjab

Oxygen is used as a medical treatment in both chronic and acute cases, and can be used in hospital, pre-hospital or entirely out of hospital, depend on the needs of the patient and the views of the medical professional advising. Ensuring that oxygen is administered in a timely and appropriate way using the right device is an important aspect of patient care. Selecting the right device can be difficult as there are a variety to choose from and a lack of practical information on selection.

Correlation between the prevalence of asthma among smokers and non smokers in al Jouf University, Sakaka

This study has focused on the prevelance of asthma in the  Smokers and non Smokers in Al Jouf  University, Sakaka. However, why the disease burden remains high in this group is unclear. The prevalence rate of asthma among smokers is (7.8%) and among non-smokers is (6.5%). We found that the cigarette smoking is not common among young university students with asthma symptoms
