Good practices for memory in the old age

Memory is one of the fundamental cognitive functions of life and its deficit is one of complaints during aging. Therefore, this study has as objective to report the experience of nursing students in working the importance of memory stimulus with the elderly through health education based on the Methodology of Problematization. The paper presents an experience report during practical classes of the curricular component of geriatrics nursing. It has developed a conversation wheel and game for stimulating memory in a dynamic and participatory way. During the activities, there were exchanges of experiences between participants becoming an important time to discuss pertinent information about memory, besides providing social interaction and leisure. It is concluded that, the educational action performed with the elderly allowed to reflect on practices and pedagogical strategies in the health care of the elderly.
