Cervical cancer is caused by long-lasting infection by some subtypes of Human Papillomavirus - HPV. Although early detectable and often preventable, it is one of the types of neoplasms that most affect women, being considered a serious public health problem for the world. Thus, this study aimed to describe the factors associated with the incidence and mortality of cervical cancer in the state of Piauí. This is an epidemiological, cross-sectional study with a quantitative approach, in which data from cervical cancer cases notified through the Oncology Panel and deaths notified through SIM, in Piauí, were analyzed. Most cases in women occurred in the age group of 50 to 79 years (47.7%), who underwent chemotherapy (41.3%), with stage 2 (40.6%), and had a time of treatment of up to 30 days (38.3%). The majority of deaths occurred in brown women (71.2%) who were aged between 50 and 79 years (55.1%), who attended school from 1 to 7 years (49.7%) and were married (40.8%). There was an increase in the incidence of cervical cancer over the analyzed period. And mortality rates showed an increasing but stable pattern over the period studied.
