Abstract:

The combination of hydrogel and nitrogen may favor the expression of grain productivity of wheat. The goal of the study was to analyze the nitrogen utilization efficiency in wheat through the hydrogel biopolymer, defining the optimal dose of hydrogel and nitrogen combination at the maximum grain productivity, in succession systems of high and reduced N-residual release. The study was carried out in 2014 and 2015, in randomized block design with four replicates in a 4 x 4 factorial, for hydrogel doses (0, 30, 60 and 120 kg ha-1), added in the furrow along the seed and fertilizer-N doses (0, 30, 60 and 120 kg ha-1), applied in the stage of third leaf expanded, respectively, in the soy/wheat and corn/wheat systems. The hydrogel biopolymer increases the efficiency of nitrogen use in grain productivity of wheat in succession systems. The ideal combination of hydrogel and nitrogen at the maximum grain productivity is 58 and 93 kg ha-1, respectively, in the soybean/wheat systems and 44 and 115 kg ha-1, respectively, in the corn/wheat system. Thus, the use of the hydrogel biopolymer emerges as a new technology in the management of wheat crop.
