Análise dos benefícios do licenciamento ambiental municipal em limeira do oeste – MG

Rodrigo Barbosa Lorena, Evandro Roberto Tagliaferro and Roberto Andreani Junior

Abstract:

The growing concern with environmental issues comes mostly from observing the accelerated industrialization process and its difficulty in reconciling economic activity and environmental preservation. One of the most important instruments created to minimize this conflict is called Environmental Licensing. In the State of Minas Gerais (MG) the Normative Deliberation (DN) of the Environmental Policy Council (COPAM) 213 of February 22, 2017, was published, which allowed municipalities to carry out the environmental licensing of some projects and economic activities with an environmental impact of local scope. Taking on the assignment of licensing, monitoring and supervising different types of projects and activities defined in the aforementioned DN requires a lot of responsibility and training of the ones involved. Using a descriptive study, based on bibliographic, documental and field research combined, the objective was to analyze the environmental, social and economic benefits of the municipalization of environmental licensing. There were environmental, social and economic benefits of the municipalization of environmental licensing in Limeira do Oeste - MG. The environmental benefits being the proximity to the environmental impact factor and inspections, the social benefits from the participation of civil society in the environmental council and the economic benefits being the increase in collecting fees for licensing processes and environmental interventions.
